Knouff Lake Vacation

This past weekend we went to Knouff Lake Resort to celebrate Curt's 25th birthday! We were surrounded by tons of friends and family. My brother and his girlfriend and another couple even drove in from Calgary. It was a weekend of laughter and play oh and of course fishing! I highly recommend this resort, it has tons of cute little cabins right in front of the lake. Everyone is so friendly!

The first day we got there it was really nice and warm, the guys hopped on their boats right away to get some fishing in before dinner while the rest of us hung out with the kids.

The next two days were on and off rain but that didn't stop us from more fishing, eating, drinking and cooking up some smores!

(the view from our front deck)

On Sunday I was only out in the boat for about an hour and caught the biggest fish of the weekend! 2.5 lb trout, Curt's came in second at 2lbs.

And it was delicious!

What was my favorite part of the trip? I would have to say it is a tie between catching the toad with the kids and catching the fish.. I LOVED how the kids went crazy over the toad, the look on their faces, so amazed. That said the look on all the guys faces was pretty enjoyable too when I showed them up ;)

Here is to many more vacations and adventures!

Cody + Danielle { Married } continued..

Please don't hate me future brides, but after editing Cody and Danielle's wedding, I wouldn't mind doing another rainy day wedding! The overcast provided such good lighting and the use of the umbrellas really gave some of the pictures a romantic feel. It was the first rainy wedding I did (I know crazy right, we are in BC!) but yes the first and I am sure not the last. So for those brides who start looking at the forecast weeks before their weddings (I know you do..) it will be OK, just have to be a little more creative and adventurous!

While editing their wedding pictures, I don't think I came across one that they weren't smiling in! You can see how happy they and how much they are looking forward to being husband and wife. I am so happy for them. Her father walked her down the isle while her brother and his friend played the guitar, it doesn't get much better than that!

Here are a few more before I go away for the weekend!

Danielle + Cody {Married} sneak peek.

This past Saturday I had the privilege to photograph Danielle and Cody's wedding. It was a small, beautiful ceremony in their parents house. Originally it was planned to be a backyard wedding but due to the rainy weather it was inside.

Danielle was glowing and Cody had a permanent grin on his face. It really was a special ceremony with only close friends and family. We did most of the family pictures inside and sneaked outside for a few of the bride and groom and wedding party. Everyone was prepared as they all brought umbrellas which created some pretty cool shots. Of course as soon as everyone sat down for dinner the sun started to shine through the grey clouds.

I really had fun, the wedding party kept me and everyone else smiling!

Here are just a couple so far!

Stay tuned for more!

Pre Wedding Jitters..

So tomorrow I have my first Wedding of the season! I am VERY excited. So far I have 13+ weddings booked this spring/summer/fall and have been trying to patiently wait for them to begin!

The bride is not the only one with jitters before the big day, I get them too. Every night or even days before a Wedding I get nervis, excited and very anxious. I can't wait to see the details, the dress, everything! I begin by relaxing and taking time going over the notes I have taken down for this particular Wedding and things the bride and I have talked about. Then I go over 'my wedding notes' that I have taken down over time from my course and forums. I then make sure to have everything in the camera bag organized, charged and ready to go with nothing amiss. Lots of cards and batteries, even snacks. Oh and listen to this song by Adele, always gets me in the groove.

What I love about Weddings is that they are not always the same, as far as schedule goes. Some Weddings I basically start my day along with them while they are drinking their morning coffee and beginning the make-up/hair process. Some I start shortly before the ceremony. Tomorrow is one of those days I start shortly before the ceremony. This is probably a good thing since it is the first Wedding of the season it will get me back into the grove without leaving me exhausted.

It looks like the weather is not going to be that fair to us, but that is OK. I believe I have an adventurous bride and groom on my hands so that will not stop us!

Before I leave to go do a little more reading, charging, etc. I will share a few random pictures from this week.

This is the only way to get pictures of us sometimes :)

  Happy Friday!

More of Shawn + Rebecca {Engaged}

I have been so busy with editing to post anything on the blog! Also enjoying my last little down time for awhile. May isn't too too busy but I am looking forward to my first Wedding of the season this Saturday!

I am currently finishing up Shawn & Rebecca's Engagement session that took place in Fort Langley. I am pretty happy how they turned out if I do say so myself. I cannot wait to shoot their Wedding June!

Here are some of my favorites!
