Shawn + Rebecca {Engaged} sneak peek..

I met Rebecca a month or so ago to discuss her upcoming wedding in June on the Sunshine Coast, which I am SO excited for! I got to meet her her fiancĂ©e Shawn on Saturday for their engagement session! Fort Langley was the chosen location as it is one of their favorite places to spend time. The weather couldn't have been any better, it was warm and BEAUTIFUL!

We walked around and found different places for some really unique shots, here are a few!

Stay tuned fore more!

Adam + Janine {Engaged}

On Sunday I FINALLY got to shoot Adam and Janine's Engagement session! We have had to put it off for weeks now due to the crappy weather. Sunday morning I woke up and saw some blue sky and a sun trying to peak through, so it was a go!

We decided to do the session in Fort Langley since there is so much characteristic, but of course there was a car show going on so it was pretty crowded. Thats OK just a challenge and I like those :)  We did a few outfit changes and added some props (which I love).

I met Adam & Janine a few months ago to discuss the details of their upcoming wedding, and we talked so much time flew by, I think a couple hours actually over coffee. This time the same thing happened, we got carried away and 3 hours flew by! We had a blast and I even got to use a made up word, "just lay there and act romantical". Really Tracie? Romantical? I'm keeping it and will use it again :)

Here are a few, they are SO photogenic!

I cannot wait until their wedding in June, it will be beautiful.

A Simple Childhood

So now that I have a child I tend to think of how much things have changed since I was a child, and I am a young parent!

I grew up in a VERY small town where everyone knew everyone, so it is different then out here. However I think it has gotten a little crazy. The other day Curt and I were driving and I saw this young kid talking away on his cell phone while walking from school probably, so I asked Curt how old he was when he first got a cell phone. He told me probably 13... I was in grade 11!! Thats the difference from small towns to city living I guess. Still I think it has gone a little crazy.. I came accross this post today on one of my friends facebook:

When I was a kid I didn't have an X-box, Wii. I had a bike and a curfew, the street lights. Mom didn't call my cell, she yelled outside, "time to come in". I played outside with friends, not online. If I didn't eat what my mom cooked, I went hungry. Hand sanitizer didn't exist, but you could get your mouth washed out with soap. Re-post this if drank water out of hose and survived!!! ;)

This was exactly my childhood! So it got me inspired today to make

some things I enjoyed when I was little (SIMPLE things).

Grayer actually LOVED the homemade musical instruments lol.

I LOVE homemade play doh, I don't know why but it is WAY better!

I hope more people can be inspired to share little things from

there childhood with their children. I think it's important and special.

Weekend is almost here and it is going to be another busy one!

Cheers,

Go Grayer Go!

Today we had Grayer's birthday party, and he had a blast. He had his best buddies there who were as excited as he was.

This morning I made a coffee and went downstairs to start decorating, Grayer grabbed a toy and came along. We looked like hill billy's, me in baggy sweats and messy hair and him in swim shorts (his new thing) and winter boots (aparently another new thing). He continued to stand there passing us balloon after balloon to blow up. When I tried to take a break, he crossed his arms and gave me a look like "ready yet?".

When people started to show up the excitement got to him instantly and I could see his overwhelmed eyes starting to get glossy..

He is obsessed with Go Diego Go right now so I tried to make it that theme, even though it was almost impossible to find anything that theme. I actually made the cake too, usually I stay away from working with icing because my biggest pet peeve is sticky hands.. but I did it!

Happy Birthday Grayer!

Today, my baby turned 2...

When you have a child you are warned about so many things, tend to over-think all the dangers and fears that could happen in the first couple of months. Watch every move when they start squirming all over the place in fear of a face plant or eating something off the floor. When they start walking, you want them to be brave and take a fall without too many tears. I was told to take the time and enjoy every moment because it goes by too fast, yeah OK it does but thats part of life. Yeah, its not as easy as I thought..

I don't remember the first birthday being this hard, but he was still a baby. He is a little man now, who picks out his own clothes and tells me what he wants to eat, watch or do.

Last night I blew up a few balloons and stuck them to his bedroom door, he loves "bawoons". As the clock hit midnight I snuck in and gave him a kiss and whispered happy birthday to him. This morning he was very happy to see all the bawoons and wanted me to blow up more.

I went the whole day without feeling overly emotional, until I started editing pictures and I shed one tear. Grayer noticed right away, came over to me and wiped it away and gave me a hug. He is the best.

We had a little birthday celebration today, cupcakes, presents, and a good few hours at the playground. We even had a nap together. Todays weather was probably exactly like the weather we had on the       day he was born, I remember because I didn't want to be stuck inside.

I never knew I could be so in love with someone..

                                                                            (My mom and Grayer)

And of course we wrapped our evening up with more play doh playing, puzzles and the usual bath. I let him splash a little extra and stay in a little longer tonight ..

(note: I think he looks like the Caldwell's here, this is rare lol )

He may be getting older but I refuse to give up the baby smelling shampoo!

I had an amazing day. I love my family of three, and couldn't ask for anything else.

Happy Birthday Grayer, we love you so very much. You are the most beautiful, amazing, lovable person I have ever met.

Stay tuned for more pictures after his 'big' party on Sunday!
